Pizza dough
You will need:
3 ¾ cups All purpose flour / bread flour
2 ½ tspn active dry yeast
2 ½ tspn salt
¾ tspn sugar / honey
1 ½ cup warm water
olive oil / unsalted butter
How to:
- Measure out the active dry yeast and place in a bowl or your stand mixer. Add the warm water to the yeast and let it stand for 10 minutes until the surface of the yeast mixture turns frothy or bubbly.
- Add the sugar or honey to the yeast mixture and stir to incorporate it.
- Add the flour and the salt and knead in to form a dough. Continue to knead until the dough has fully come together and has a bounce or elasticity to it with slightly pinched.
- In the same bowl, scrap out the dough, coat the bowl with some olive oil or butter and place the dough back to the bowl.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth of some cling film and let it stand to proof/rise in a warm place until it doubles in size approximately an 45mins to and hour.
- Once ready, divide it to desired ball sizes and you are ready to make your favourite pizza.
Notes
- Makes sure your water is on the warm approx.. 110 degrees
- Once the dough had risen DO NOT OVER WORK THE DOUGH otherwise you will lose the air and bubbles that aid the dough to rise well.
